Well, we’ve reached August. And while to some that might signal the last few days of summer, we’re not ready to pack up our fruity drinks and sunny beach days just yet. We’ve pulled together a few delicious summer cocktails to carry you through those final summer picnics and get-togethers. Remember, “Don’t count the days but make the days count.”

Riesling Strawberry Slushies by With Style and Grace

strawberry slushie

Summer screams for ice cream and this grown-up strawberry slushy is the answer to your sweat treat cravings. This recipe from With Style & Grace is perfect for a girl’s night on the patio. And with a little advanced planning, (the ice needs time to freeze!), these icy delights will be ready in no time. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 2 1/2 Cups Hulled Strawberries
  • 1 Bottle [750ml] Dry Riesling
  • 1 Tablespoon Fresh Lime Juice
  • 2 1/2 Tablespoons Sugar

First set aside 1 cup of Riesling to chill in the fridge. Next, puree the strawberries in a food processor along with the rest of the wine, lime juice, and sugar. Place in an ice tray and freeze until solid. When you are ready to serve, puree the ice cubes with the rest of the wine in the blender and you are ready to beat the heat.

Simply mix one part vodka to two parts grapefruit juice with a squeeze of blood orange. Shake it up on our Klasp Cocktail Shaker and pour into Tilt Double Old-Fashioned Glasses. Garnish with a blood orange wedge, sprig of rosemary and enjoy!

French 75 by Hygge and West

French 75

If you haven’t heard of Hygge and West yet, check them out. These girls are churning out beautiful wallpaper designs from their design shop that can be applied to more than just your walls. Think serving trays, cabinet and draw liners, storage boxes and more. You can find the recipe for their favorite cocktail – a classic French 75 – on their blog Picnics Under the Moon. We love how they were able to incorporate this vintage Nambé Butterfly Ice Bucket into their shot, an essential for a warm summer day. Take a peek at our current collection and see if one works for your next party.

White Wine Elderflower Sangria by Girl Versus Dough

Elderflower SangriaWe are always on the hunt for a good sangria recipe. Something about the sweet fruit additions make this incredibly light and summery drink the first thing we look for at a backyard party or the happy hour menu. Luckily, we found a must-try to close out the summer season (but we won’t tell if you want to whip some up later in the year, too!) – White Wine Elderflower Sangria. Full of red grapes, blackberries, blueberries, pear and apple, how can you resist this wonderful combination of flavors? Sounds like summer in a glass to us. Serve this delicious beverage in a clear pitcher, like our crystal Serenity Pitcher with Stirrer to show off all that in-season fruit.
